The Hartford Festival Orchestra presents unique programs featuring Opera, and Spanish and Latin American classics especially written or arranged for this orchestra.

A completely new concept in the presentation of concerts is a special attraction of our productions. In addition to our actors, the musicians in our Dramatized Concerts sometimes combine acting with playing their instruments. Along with a variety of sets, musical scores, programs and authentic costumes, we create an ambiance which draws the audience into our performances as though they’ve stepped back in time. We bring all of these visual factors together with the enthusiasm of our musicians, actors and singers, to create an atmosphere unlike any other concert.

This music is full of exciting rhythms, colorful harmonies, and beautiful melodies. Our concerts are especially suited for Pops series, outdoor summer concerts, or programs with an Italian, Latin, or Spanish theme. By presenting the most popular pieces from some of world’s greatest composers, usually several movements or arias from each work; we provide a variety of exciting music for the maximum enjoyment of the audience.

The outstanding musicians who are selected to be in the orchestra also perform professionally with the Hartford Symphony, New Haven Symphony, Meriden Symphony, and the United States Coast Guard Band.
